National Rice Foundations are established in major rice-growing countries of Asia to undertake rice programs, projects and activities that are relevant to the needs and constraints of the respective countries. They are federated together, with the Asia Rice Foundation serving as the umbrella agency to help coordinate and provide support to their respective programs.

Currently, there are five national rice foundations (NRFs), one in each of the following countries:

The Thai Rice Foundation under Royal Patronage The Thai Rice Foundation Under Royal Patronage (June 2000)
Indonesia Rice Foundation Indonesia Rice Foundation (August 2001)
Bangladesh Rice Foundation Bangladesh Rice Foundation (February 2002)
China Rice Science and Development Foundation China Rice Science and Development Foundation (February 2003)

The ARF is inviting interested individuals and/or organizations in other countries to help establish national rice foundations in their countries. Interested parties can contact the ARF for guidelines and assistance.
